VWF not happening now after all!
In a rather unbelievable turn of events, last night the organizers let all of us know that the venue for the conference is unavailable, because someone was shot there and the police have closed it off for three days!
A variety of side events are still happening, since so many people flew halfway around the world to attend, but the main sessions are not. For example, both the SXSW party and the reciting poetry at Bartle events shall go on as scheduled. 😉

A man has died after he was shot inside a club during the early hours of Sunday, the Metropolitan Police said.
The 24-year-old received a gunshot wound at around 5.30am at the SEOne club, in Weston Street, near London Bridge.
He was taken to hospital but later died, Scotland Yard said.

Last VWF, Raph couldn’t make it because his family was evacuated from forest fires. This VWF, the entire conference couldn’t make it because someone got shot outside the venue.
Maybe Fate is trying to tell Raph something…

Ha! I not only managed to escape Raph’s reciting his poetry to me, but even managed to recite one of MY poems to HIM!
