A Theory of Fun is available again on Amazon

This is a nice blog anniversary surprise!

I don’t know for how long, or why (maybe the publisher stuff is sorted out? Maybe someone found a cache of them hidden under a mossy rock north of Pirate Cove) — but it’s claims 1-3 weeks shipping time, and it’s $17.24, and it’s not used copies. As you may or may not know, it’s been out of print since last October or so, and copies have been going for as high as $300.

If you’ve been waiting, now might be the time to order it!

BTW, if any current owners want to review it, it could use some fresh reviews…

  1. BTW, if any current owners want to review it, it could use some fresh reviews…

Whee… I’ve never done a book review before. That was kinda fun.

It’s also worth pointing out that there’s some kind of “Fall Textbook Promotion” that Amazon is doing that includes this. That’s probably related to its being in stock all the sudden. 🙂

  2. Hmm, from #238,000 on the charts to #1,097 in one day.

Ah, so the whole “out of print” shebang was part of the plan! Increase the value of the book by decreasing the availability! 😉 I still think the lack of a digital version is pretty wacky considering the subject matter.

  3. I’m going to echo Morgan on that, why is there no pdf?

It didn’t get released as an eBook originally, and that is a publisher decision to make. Then when it went out of print, I decided to try finding a new publisher first before just giving it away, as that might mean no publisher would take it.

I’d like to get it out there electronically, though. I clicked the “request as Kindle” button on Amazon, did you? 🙂
