I have here three reviews of A Theory of Fun written in Korean, and I don’t know what they say. I’d very much like to know, and also to post the reviews on the book’s website.

If there’s anyone out there willing to translate them, I’d very much appreciate it. The blog readers map doesn’t show anyone in Korea, but after all, we know most of the readers haven’t put their markers on that yet. 🙂

Longish newspaper review.

  2. Hello, Mr. Koster, I’m a high school student here in Korea, I am half white, half korean. And I have lived here basically my whole life. I am fluent in Korea and I would be happy to take a shot at translating your reviews.

  3. That’s fantastic! Thank you so much!

Oh, and add yourself to the map! Then we’ll know there’s someone in Korea.

I hear it’s gotten really cold there, now that winter’s fully here. Can’t say I miss the kimchi, but I do miss the barbecue!

  4. Yeah, it got pretty cold, averages out around 25 degrees F. I was wondering how you would like me to send the translated reviews over.

  5. Just post them here as comments, it’s easiest. Unless they’re embarrassing and rip the book to shreds? 🙂

  6. A Theory of Fun = Why are some games fun and other dreadful? This question has been asked in the world of gaming, and now it has been answered. This book was used to define this question in world-wide gaming. Every person has the ability to have fun, and that is the purpose of earnt entertainment.

Some of the translation may be flawed. But this is from the third link (short newspaper article) This is the basic outline of the article.

I’ve been on a bind for time, so when I get to have more time I will continue to work on the others and even touch this one up.

  7. Then you should definitely post the reviews here! 😉
