But this interview with the Guardian ended up being much about overall topic than about specifically the company and the project. Our website is between level 1 and level 2 compliant for accessibility, and i believe there will be someone strategising to improve that further.Me personally? I’m happy with the text headers - but there’s been some prodding by others pointing out that its not consistent with the rest of the ‘corporate brand look and feel’ (what a bunch of wank words). Also, the 2 sites I’m working on, are authorities, and are linked back from other regional sites that are also more minor authorities, so credibility in that sense isn’ta problem, not to mention we’re linked back from the National site, also helpful, not to mention any of the industry partners, i’m pretty sure, linking back to us is a requirement. Plus, the site is text and keyword rich - not random text, its text based on the destinations, the highlights, the itineraries, the hot spots, regional locations, attractions and unique aspects of WA, so the keywords are not a problem. Metadata for the travel/consumer site, also not a problem - not done yet, but the provision is there and the business just needs to actually put the data in, thankfully not my job. Corporate site, that’sa little more interesting - there’s no site owner, so no clear voice and i don’t think its done yet. Having said that, the corporate site, there’s less interest in its SEO applications, its a wa.gov.au site, and not the shiny crown jewel that the new wa.com is intended to be. It’s not something i personally need to source an answer for, or worry about. It came up in the meeting, there was comments on still no answer yet, and I thought it seemed logical to ask, however there was reasonable amounts of well meaning mockage - i just felt that if i was going to be laughed at, i’d investigate a little… This isn’t the first, nor the last thing they’ll be stupid about - there’s no ‘Hedgehog principle’ applied herein.
