HotSpot redux

June 29th, 2006

Remember a while back when I blogged about how I couldn’t figure out how to log into a T-Mobile HotSpot? Well, I just got a text message from T-Mobile that apparently went out to everyone with the Total Internet Plan, explaining how to do it. (Login: phone number, Password: last 4 digits of your SSN.)

Guess I wasn’t the only one confused.

I used to use their HotSpots before I left the US, mostly to use my laptop in bookstores and coffee shops, but I found their monthly rates to be a bit high for something I used only occasionally. These days, though, most indie coffee shops have free wireless, because they know where their bread is buttered.
